Having recently passed my test in the last year, it really annoys me that young male drivers get charged more for their car insurance than young female drivers. Not all young men are reckless at the wheel and cause a crash as soon as they start driving. I have heard that the hike in premiums is because statistically young male drivers under the age of 25 are more likely to be involved in a road traffic accident; however I don’t think we should all be tarred with the same brush.  I know I it is a case of the few that spoil it for the rest but is this really fair? However before I bore everyone with more soap box ranting I have managed to find after hours of search that some insurance companies do offer fairer quotes than others – but it feels like you do have to search for them and it can feel like a bit of a mission unless you know where to look.  But it is definitely worth the effort especially when I compare my highest quote with the lowest one and realise what I could be saving.
