Waterproofing Basement Walls - First You Must Prep Them
When it comes to waterproofing basement walls, it’s not as simple as slapping on some waterproofing compound and calling it a day. Different situations will have their own preparation needs before this can occur. In cases where the basement walls are painted, you will have to remove that paint before using the waterproofing compound usually.
Also, you will have to make sure to prep the crack before waterproofing basement walls by first making it damp before applying the waterproofing mix. Do not have it dripping wet, but do not have it dry either. That is unless you are using a proxy waterproofing coatings.
