Wine Baskets

A wine gift basket is usually appreciated. However, when gifting alcoholic beverages, one must proceed with extra caution. Obviously, a wine gift is inappropriate for an underage recipient, alcoholics or those who choose not to drink alcohol. If you are unsure that the recipient consumes alcohol, consider another type of gift basket. When gifting a basket, you generally include additional items related to the theme. For a wine gift basket, suggested items are bottle stoppers, wine glasses, cheese, crackers or other foods that pair well with the selected wine.Since wine prices fluctuate greatly, your next issue is to establish a price point for the wine. The price of a bottle can range from less than $5.00 to several hundred dollars. If you know that your recipient will appreciate the difference, choose any wine that fits your budget. You may choose to forget the gift basket approach and buy an extravagant wine that the recipient may find out of reach. For general baskets of wine, it is unnecessary to spend more than $10 to $20 per bottle. Do your research to uncover highly rated wines at bargain prices. Also look to purchase wines through discount sources such as a warehouse club.  Those who know nothing about wine will value the gift at these price levels and those who know more will appreciate your wine acumen.
