The Tour De France is one of the most well known of all bike races in the world. It was first established in 1903 and has grown to be the largets event in the bike calendar. The whole race lasts a huge 23 days and the winner must be first across the most sets of stages. The yellow jersey is worn by the leader of the race until the final stage. Almost everyone has heard of the Tour De France as there are often some spectacular crashes which make the daily TV news shows. The best thing is, you don’t have to know how to speak French to compete as you don’t have time to stop and ask for directions!
